TeePee Treats

Image and Recipe via Family Fun Magazine
What a better way to celebrate the harvest season than with this adorable treat that your family and friends will love! These Teepee Treats are not only super cute, but they are also super yummy.

Sugar cones
2 cups confectioners’ sugar
1/4 cup unsalted butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
Cake-decorating icing (in tubes)
Decorative candies

In a mixing bowl with an electric beater set at low speed, mix 2 cups of sifted confectioners’ sugar, 1/4 cup of softened, unsalted butter, and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract until smooth and spreadable. Stir in a bit of milk, if needed.
Use the icing to lightly frost eight ice cream sugar cones.  Once you have them covered place them in the freezer for a few minutes until the icing hardens.
Now it is time for the really fun part! Use tubes of cake-decorating icing and candies to decorate your teepees! Last, but not least, for lodgepoles, insert toothpicks into the tip of each cone.  Just be sure to remove these if you are serving them to kiddos.

Another cute take on this is to make Teepee Cupcakes.  That's right - we said cupcakes.

A Few Of My Favorite Things has a wonderful step-by-step tutorial on how to make this version of this adorable treat.  Click here to get the recipe!
We hope that you enjoy these fun and festive treats!
