Go East High!

At the ranch, we do more than just weddings, company picnics, and birthday parties.  We also do private parties, like high school reunions.  It is always so much fun to be a part of these events because we get the chance to hear our guests' stories and share their memories.

Awhile ago, East High School's Class of 1958 held their reunion luncheon at Faulkner's Ranch so we got a chance to enjoy their blast to the past.

What stood out so much about this reunion was the decor.  It was more than just the school colors.  It was a piece of history right out of their yearbooks.
Just take a look at this cheerleading uniform that they had on display by the stage:
Isn't that a fun idea?  Seeing that must have brought back so many memories of Friday night football games.  The skirts have gotten a little shorter since then, haven't they? ;o)

They also showed their school pride with their centerpieces.

We love the use of the megaphones.  It is such a simple idea, but it adds the perfect touch of school spirit.

They also paid tribute to those that had passed with a beautiful "In Memoriam" wall collage...
Below the collage they had a memorabilia table complete with cheer sweaters, yearbooks, and photos.
It was easy to see that the alumni really enjoyed looking through this display.  It was such a nice way to honor the memory of those who were no longer with them by remembering the good ole times.

Of course, we can't forget to mention the band!  They were still rockin' after all these years and provided the perfect entertainment for the afternoon.

Overall, this was such a fun event!
Thanks again to the Class of '58 for sharing their good times with us!

If you would like to consider Faulkner's Ranch for your next class reunion, send us an e-mail today!

Have a great day, ya'll!

Ain't No Race Like a Mouse Race!

Want to throw a party that is something your guests have never experience before?
Then have we got the idea for you!
Mouse Races!
Nope, you didn't read that wrong.  We get so excited when a client chooses to have Mouse Races at their event.  Recently Nymatt chose to have a rowdy rodent night and y'all, it was SO MUCH FUN!

Casino Parties KC by Wheelin'n'Dealin provides the mouse races.  The setup is so much fun!
Here you can see the "racetrack" and the Mouse Roulette on the big screen.

Nope, you didn't read that wrong either.
Mouse Roulette is a real thing.

One of the most hilarious parts of the night is watching what people name their mice.
Gas Passer for the win.

Speaking of the mice, here are the contestants...

Nymatt really upped the stakes with some fantastic prizes.

All in all, this was such a fun night!
Thanks to Casino Parties KC and Nymatt for the laughs!

Docs on the Ranch {KU Medical Center Pediatric Residency}

Where might you find out if someone has the best "Goat Side Manner?"
At the KU Medical Center Pediatric Residency team building party, of course!

We were so pleased to have this group of young docs join us for a fun day of ranch chores.
Their duties that day were a little different from what they normally see in the hospital.

After all, it's not every day that you get to have a goat dressing competition!
Don't worry animals lovers, the goats actually LOVE this activity.  It's gentle and they get super spoiled with lots of treats and special attention.
This guy had the BEST "goat side manner."
If treating kiddos doesn't work out, he could always be a vet! ;)

That wasn't our only fun activity though.
The docs had a blast competing with a water balloon toss.  Say what you want, playing with water balloons is fun no matter what age you are!

Horse collar relays were also on the rounds.

We even played one of our crowd-favorites, a wild game of Walla Balla...
Or as we like to call it, "I'm Sexy and I Know It."
We'll have to get a video up of this soon.  You really need to see it in action. The goal is to get the ball that is dangling between their legs into the baskets strapped around their hips.
You get the picture.

Of course, no ranch party is complete without some roller ropin'!

Overall, it was such a fun time! Thanks again to the KU Medical Center Pediatric Residency for choosing Faulkner's Ranch! Y'all were a blast!

Pony Party Round-Up #1

Yee-haw!
Today we are launching a brand new blog series called Pony Party Round-Up where we will showcase our favorite ideas from recent Pony Parties.

First up, this cuteness!
Cowboy Kingston's parents SURPRISED him with this birthday party.  How fun is that?!
When he woke up his parents outfitted him from head to toe.  He was dressed to the nines! He had it all - boots, hat, handcuffs, even a pretend light up cigar!  He had a blast being the sheriff for the day!

Next up is this ADORABLE cake! We love how it gave Frozen a ranch feel by adding sunflowers.

Next we have Isabel's 7th Birthday Party.
These super cute treat bags were from Etsy.
The party favors were also from Etsy.  They were these neat little handmade soaps that smelled like berries!

And how cool are these chocolate horse pops?  They are like edible art!  The kiddos LOVED them!

Lastly we have Laila's 8th birthday party.  She had her party at the ranch before and this time chose to go with a My Little Pony Theme.
We loved the colorful candy bar!
See that cake?  Her momma made it! So talented!
Cute Idea Alert! Cupcakes with toys on top that the guests can keep!

So there you have it! Our first Pony Party Round-Up!

iFamily KC Kids Club Event

Yesterday we had the pleasure of hosting one of iFamily KC's Kid Club events!
It was such a fun day!
First of all, the weather was beautiful! It had cooled down quite a bit which was wonderful after such a hot spell.   It made it a perfect day to spend outside on the ranch.  It was so nice seeing everyone enjoying themselves on the Wild Western Playground, the bounce house, and playing our ranch recreation games.
The hayride, zip line, petting farm, and pony rides were also in full swing.
Many of our guests had never been to the ranch before so it was awesome to see them enjoy everything for the first time.

The nice weather also made it great for dining under our picnic pavilion.  The biggest hit from our concession stand were our brand new chicken fingers.

iFamily KC even had a photo op for the movie Shawn the Sheep complete with masks for the kiddos. It was so funny to see them walking around the ranch.  They fit right in...although it may have left our own sheep a little confused. ;)

Of course, Pumpkin the Cat did her job as Ranch Ambassador.  She greeted everyone as they entered and graciously allowed the guests to spoil her with lots of pets and attention.
Granted, she fell asleep in the basket that we were using to hand out the parent packages.
We'll forgive her for it though - after all, the queen needs a throne!

At the end of the day we also had a drawing for 4 Pumpkin Season tickets, as well as a puzzle and stickers from the Disney movie "Inside Out" that were provided by iFamilyKC.  We can't wait to call the lucky winner, Christine Diener!

All in all, yesterday was just a blast.
We had such a great time showing off our beloved ranch to everyone.
Thanks again to iFamily KC for joining us at Faulkner's Ranch! We can't wait to do it again!

Want to take part in all the fun that the ranch has to offer?  Then be sure to visit us this Pumpkin Season!  It's gonna be a blast!

Have a great day, y'all!
