A Sunny Picnic {NIC}

We'd be lying if we said that we didn't do a happy dance whenever we looked at the weather report and saw sunshine.  While our rainy day backup plans are just as fun, it's always nice when guests get to enjoy the ranch in its fullest, sunny glory.

That was just the luck for NIC (aka eGov) at their company picnic!
The weather was absolutely beautiful!

This picnic had all of the elements for a really fun time!
The bull was bucking!

Ranch activities were in full swing!

The zipline was flying!

The petting farm animals were getting spoiled.

And of course, there was the most epic inflatable you've ever seen!

Not to mention, there were plenty of drinks flowing to help beat the heat...

Guests also enjoyed a delicious and fresh buffet...

Even the condiment table was a sight to behold...

After lunch, there was a special treat...
SNOW CONES!
Nothing says summer like snow cones, y'all!

All in all, this picnic was just a blast!
Fun people, delicious food, and a beautiful day!
You couldn't ask for more!

Thanks again to NIC for partying with us at Faulkner's Ranch!

BONUS FUN FACT: After guests left, we had just 2 hours to turn this company picnic into this gorgeous wedding!

Rainy Day Back-Up Plan {National Flood Services}

On Saturday, June 13th, we had the amazing people of National Flood Services with us for their company picnic!

Granted, it was a little soggy that day (okay, there was a downpour at one point), but nevertheless they were great sports and were able to enjoy the activities that we had planned for them.  That’s part of what makes our events stress-free.  When you book an event at Faulkner’s Ranch, we always have a Plan B in place, so you don’t have to worry.

To keep our guests happy and dry, we altered our original plan by placing portions of the Ranch Recreation under the picnic pavilion.

That's where you could find one of the busiest attractions of the day -  the mechanical bull!

Kiddos didn't have to worry about missing out on the fun.  We moved the pony rides inside the barn by the petting farm.  Smaller kids were even able to enjoy playing the activities in the Pony Place.
Bingo was held in the banquet barn after a tasty picnic menu of pulled pork, hot dogs and baked beans (yum!).

Luckily, the rain cleared periodically for the kids to get their fill of pedal karts, the moonwalk and the zip line. Judging by how many people were fishing around the pond, it looked like the guests weren't too bothered by the uncooperative weather.
Dressed for a rip-roarin' good time!
One of the highlights of the party was when National Flood Services COO, Chris Hernandez, thanked his employees for their service.  It was a really nice moment.  He even held a drawing for five really nice gift baskets - everyone was excited to see if they would win.  However, even if their name wasn't drawn, he made sure that they didn't leave empty handed.  Employees received a car sunshade and kids even got a treat bag!
Party Tip: Company Picnics are a great place to express your gratitude to your employees, hand out awards, and celebrate those who are retiring.

Overall, this picnic was a great time and proof that a little rain doesn't have to stop the fun!
Thanks again to National Flood Services for choosing Faulkner's Ranch!

Banking on Fun

Recently we had the pleasure of hosting Arvest Bank's company picnic.

If you live in the Midwest, then you are probably well aware that this picnic season we have had to deal with the dreaded "R" word.  You guessed it...rain!
Thankfully, on this Sunday, we enjoyed some much drier weather which meant that everything was in full swing.

One of the most popular events at this picnic was the fishing.  Guests were having a blast seeing what they could catch in our fully-stocked pond.

Pony rides, the petting farm, and moonwalk were also on the entertainment menu.
Petting Carmie the Bunny.  She's a furry one!
Of course, the pedal karts and zip line were a huge hit with the kids!  Just look at this tiny tot zipping away!

One of our favorite parts of our Wild Western Picnic Package is our Mini Rodeo games.
After all, it wouldn't be a ranch picnic without a cow milking contest!

Guests even got to test out their calf roping skills with our roller roper machine.
The kids cooled off with a water balloon toss before the picnic menu of hamburgers, hot dogs, pulled pork and baked beans.
Even the end of the picnic was perfect.  Guests moseyed out to "Happy Trails" after a dessert of brownies, cookies and ice cream - yum!
We were sad to see them go, but so glad that they had a great time at the ranch!

There was something for everyone at this picnic.  That's part of what makes our job so fun.  We love knowing that everyone who visits the ranch has a good time.

Thanks again to Arvest Bank for choosing Faulkner's Ranch!

A Perfect Wedding {The Sipes}

We have been SO EXCITED to share with you this beautiful wedding.
Everything about the Sipes wedding was perfect.  The decor, special touches, the attention to detail.
Scott Van Cleave, the father of the bride, made this beautiful sign to welcome guests.
As guests arrived, they were welcomed by the sounds of a beautiful string quartet.  They set the mood perfectly for the ceremony.
As the quartet played in the background, guests first came across this unique seating chart before heading into the covered picnic pavilion.
We loved the creativity behind this idea.  We also loved how functional it was.  Instead of guests hovering over a table to see where they will be sat or searching for place cards, they could easily walk around this to find where they are seated.

After finding their table number, guests were asked to sign the couple's "guestbook."  We are a huge fan of guestbook alternatives because most normal guestbooks end up in storage.  Pieces like this end up as art on a wall and are a beautiful reminder of your special day.

The pavilion looked absolutely beautiful that night.  The ivory table linens and chair covers really helped to transform the space.
It was amazing to think that only a few hours prior we had been hosting a company picnic in this exact spot.

The table settings were truly one of a kind.
Kelly Acock once again blew us away with her floral and centerpiece designs.
Each one was unique, yet they all tied together.
We loved the use of different vases, textures, and heights.

One of our favorite details from this wedding was the party favors that they had at each table for the guests.  They were the most adorable little jars of jam!  How fun to enjoy over a piece of toast for breakfast the next morning while you talk about all of the fun you had the night before!

The bride and groom were seated at the front of the pavilion, closest to the dance floor, at this romantic sweetheart table.  We love the sweet handmade signs that set their table apart.

One of the best parts of our job is getting to witness all of the wonderful "behind-the-scenes" moments.  Watching Rachel and her father get ready to walk down the aisle was so sweet.  He was checking her veil to make sure it was just perfect.  You could just tell that he was so excited to show everyone how beautiful she looked.
Speaking of how beautiful she looked, wasn't her dress amazing?  It was so elegant!

Following the ceremony, the bride and groom greeted guests with a receiving line before they enjoyed a delicious buffet.  The menu they chose for that night was absolutely delicious!

One of our favorite details of this wedding, however, was how the bride and groom chose to serve pies in lieu of a traditional wedding cake. The set up for their pie table was absolutely adorable!
To keep the flow of the party running smoothly, they had separate pies from the ones on display that were already pre-scliced and ready to serve.  Very smart!

Jason Brown, our Ranch J from Complete Music for the night, did an absolutely fantastic job of keeping the dance floor packed.
It was the perfect night for dancing outside under the string lights and stars!
Rule of thumb for brides and grooms: If you want your guests to dance, you need to be on the dance floor too.  The weddings where the bride and groom spend most of their time dancing are the ones that always have a packed dance floor.

Overall, this wedding was truly magical.  It was such a pleasure to celebrate a wonderful couple like Ross and Rachel.
Congrats to them once again! We wish you a lifetime full of happiness!

What a Ball 2.0!

On June 15th we had SO much fun once again hosting KC's debutantes for one of their Jewel Ball parties!
As you might recall we had a blast hosting Kansas City’s debutantes last year.
This group sure does know how to have a good time!
That night the weather wasn't too cooperative.  However, while the sight of  storm clouds rolling in might worry some, we never fear because we always have a Plan B.

Our Banquet Barn and covered picnic pavilion are just what we needed to keep the party going!
And did this party ever go! The guests do-si-do'd and promenaded all over the dance floor to Wade Morrow's awesome square dancing calling.

Here's some highlights from the dance floor.  They sure were raising the banquet barn roof!

In addition to a night of dancing, our guests also had a blast on the mechanical bull.  Having special additions like this at your event is a real crowd-pleaser.  It's not just fun for those riding, but for everyone watching too.

Of course, we have to mention the amazing decor.  Just how gorgeous are these wildflower centerpieces?!  They were picked from the client's farm.  Isn't that neat? We thought that they fit in perfectly with the setting.

Overall, the night was so much fun! It is always a pleasure to host this classy young group!
Thanks to KC's Debutantes for once again choosing Faulkner's Ranch!

Huebl Wedding

We love this time of year!
Wedding season is still in full swing, the ranch is lush and green, the sunsets are out of this world, and there is just so much love to celebrate!

Plus, we get to work with the most awesome couples, one of those being Joe and Jessica Huebl.  These two lovebirds tied the knot at the ranch on May 16th and the evening couldn't have been more perfect.

Where to even begin?

Let’s start with the decor!
The bride made most of the decor including the personal items created for the cake and guest registration tables. She's pretty talented, huh?
There were special touches everywhere you looked. We loved this sign that said, “Shoot it! Share it! Tag it!”
In today’s high-tech day and age, having a wedding hashtag handle is a great idea.  It lets the bride and groom be able to collect all of their candid wedding photos from friends and family in one spot.

Kelly Acock of Monarch Flowers enhanced the setting with fabric draping and lighting at the ceremony site and outdoor pavilion.
It was absolutely stunning in person!

Thankfully, the weather cooperated (there was a chance for storms) and we were able to have the ceremony outside at the arbor by the pond.

While the setting was gorgeous, even more beautiful was the bride.  She was absolutely radiant!

The wedding party included Joe's daughter, Kaylie, as a junior bridesmaid and Joe and Jessica's daughter Skylar as a flower girl. Little Skylar fell asleep a few minutes before the ceremony and didn't get to make her walk down the aisle; however Jessica's grandmother was happy to cuddle her great granddaughter and watch the ceremony from the shade of the pavilion. Gotta love grandmas!

Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed a traditional Ranch BBQ that included pulled pork and beef brisket.  There was also a host bar and a delicious (and beautiful!) wedding cake.

One of our favorite parts of this wedding was the first dance which they included their daughters in.  It was so neat to see the family come together.

Overall, the evening was absolutely perfect.  Even Mother Nature cooperated and the first raindrops didn't fall until the last guests were departing.  Thank goodness!

Congrats once again to Mr. and Mrs. Huebl! It was a pleasure to be a part of your special day!
