A Happy Mother of the Bride

We can go on and on about how wonderful our ranch weddings are.  But nothing truly says it best like a letter from a happy mother of the bride.  The Whiteaker/Oakes wedding was one of our favorite weddings we've ever done and we were so happy when this showed up in our inbox just a week later.

Good morning Lisa!

Boy, it is hard to imagine exactly 1 week ago it was wedding day, what a fast week it has been!

I am one happy Mom I know that for a fact! You all outdid yourselves at my daughters wedding and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I have had many people in conversation this week tell me how wonderful the staff was during our cookie hour and supper hour. The supper was magnificent!  A true family atmosphere that fit the Whiteaker and Oakes Families to a "T".  I was busy with the kids trying to take it all in and I know I missed a lot , but, knowing you all were taking care of things on our special day is overwhelming. There are not enough thank yous in the world to tell you how I feel on the inside. This is a wedding people will be are still are talking about for awhile and that makes me very proud.

Recognition is such a "must" during life and I would appreciate it if you passed on my thankfulness to each of the staff that evening. My only wish is I would have wrapped my arms around each of them and given them a big hug because that is who I am. If Mike told me once he told me twice how he was keeping a watchful eye on the kids gifts, so much appreciated.

I sure hope you all are still around when the time comes for my son to get married. Once again thank you for a country elegant memorable experience.

Much love, hugs and Blessings from this Mom!

Feedback like this is why we do what we do.  It is such a wonderful feeling to know that we were an integral party of this day that they they will remember forever.

Oh, and before we go, we just have to share one more thing.
Just look at their cupcake tower! Isn't it beautiful?!

Have a great day, y'all!

Sprinkler Fitters Holiday Party

On December 6th we welcomed back the Sprinkler Fitters Local #314 for their annual holiday party!
We had so much fun partying with them last year, so we were thrilled that they once again chose Faulkner's Ranch to celebrate.
After spending just a little bit of time with them, it is clear that this group LOVES to get together.  It's no wonder since they go the extra mile to make their events special for their employees.  One aspect of their event that made it extra special was that not only do they include current employees and their families, but they also included retirees from the union as well.  How awesome is that?! That right there is TRUE employee appreciation!
It created a wonderful atmosphere!
Fun for ALL ages!
After enjoying a traditional turkey lunch buffet (yum!),
the Sprinkler Fitters were visited by none other than Jolly Old St. Nick himself!
One of our favorite parts of holiday events is when Santa visits and guests get to take photos with him in our beautiful antique sleigh.  The kiddos at this party were all decked out in adorable holiday finery, so were are sure that many of these photos ended up in family greeting cards or on the fireplace mantle.  You gotta love when company parties create memories that will last a lifetime!

Of course, no visit to Faulkner's is complete without seeing the stars of the Ranch - our animals!  Even though it was a crisp day, our guests stayed warm in toasty in our heated petting farm barn.  Our party animals sure loved the extra attention!
We are so glad that Sprinkler Fitters chose Faulkner's Ranch once again as their party venue! It means so much to us when we become part of a tradition, especially when it is with a fantastic company and group of people!

Have a great day, y'all!

Lately At the Ranch

Howdy y'all!
It's been awhile since we've shared some stuff over here, but just you wait - we have lots of exciting blogs coming up in the next few weeks!

In the meantime, here are a few things that have been happening around the ranch...

  • Last month we wrapped up our Holiday Party Season.  We always have a few January parties (a great alternative to the December party if you're already thinking about what your company is going to do next year).  These parties were an absolute blast! We can't wait to share our favorite details about them with you, so stay tuned.
  • We have been under construction! Our new catering kitchen has taken longer to build than expected, but it is almost done, y'all! We are just putting the finishing touches on it before we give you the big reveal.  As of this past week two fryers, a 4-burner stove top, smoker, freezer, fridge, prep tables, and a dishwasher are all installed.  Here's a sneak peak of all the stainless steel beauty:
  • In January and February we hosted three Barn Warmings.  These Open Houses are the perfect opportunity for our brides to see the banquet barn all dressed up, meet some of our favorite vendors, and sample our delicious wedding menu.  Plus, we got to show off some of the new projects we've been working on, like this old door turned chalkboard sign up-cycle that will be perfect for wedding season.
    What do you think?
  • Speaking of weddings, we are currently transforming the house on the ranch into a Bridal Changing Cottage.  This will be the perfect place for our brides and their wedding parties to get ready the day of.  Check out this sweet little detail we just added to it. Cowboy Tim found it at the Greenwood Antique Store for only $15! We just love little treasures like this!
  • Winter has been all about the Pony Parties over here.  Guests get the full Pony Party experience AND stay warm in our heated Pony Party Barn.  The mama's and papa's have been out of this world lately with their creativity.  We have so many fun ideas to share with you in the next few weeks.  Just check out this amazing cake made by Cami's Cakes in Eudora, KS:
  • Did we tell you that we had a new baby?! Meet George.  This is really early for a lamb to be born, but don't worry - this little guy is staying nice and cozy in our heated petting farm with its mama and family.  And no, you're not mistaken.  He is the cutest thing ever.
  • We've also been 'sprucin the place up and planted some new trees...
  • Oh, and we got some new toys too!
  • And last, but not least, we're not jealous that Bob and Marilyn are enjoying some time in Florida.
Nope, not jealous at all.

Anyway, that's what we have been up to.  What about you???

Have a great day, y'all!
