Fall Review Contest Winner!

First of all,
Thank You, Thank You,
THANK YOU
to everyone who participated in our Fall Review Contest!

Seriously, you guys made us kick our heels up with all of the wonderful things that you had to say about your experiences at Faulkner's Ranch!
We had such a great time reading through what you had to say!
In fact, here are a few of our favorites:

"I visited Faulkner s for the first time this year with my 21-month old son and we had a great time. I loved watching his reaction to the live animals that he was able to feed and we had a great time in the maze. But his favorite activities were definitely the corn crib and hopping on the hay wagon for numerous fun rides. It was a super day! We will definitely go back and, hopefully, we can have a pony party for one of his birthdays. He was born in January and Faulkner s is one of the few places that provides an opportunity for a fun party in the middle of winter."

"LOTS of fun for all at a great price. We had my son's 2nd birthday party there. I expected it to be chaotic with tons of little kiddos. They did great! They got the kids involved in the activities. The staff was very accommodating, and the service was EXCELLENT. I would highly recommend."

"We needed to raise money for my son to get a service dog... without a beat Faulkner s jumped in and took the reins on providing us a place to have a fundraising event. Not only did they provide us a place to hold the event... they provided the entertainment and fun! The support and services we received from Faulkner s was exemplary and unmatched. I believe if we were to have had it anywhere else it would not have been as successful or as smooth as it was at Faulkner s. All I have heard from attendees is how wonderful the facilities were, how friendly the staff was, how well maintained the animals and facilities were. I could not begin to explain how much their support meant to my family and how much it took a load off of our shoulders. From planning to execution it was a wonderful experience. My wife said she wanted to have our 10 year wedding vow renewal there she was so happy. Thank you Faulkner's"

"We love parties at Faulkners Ranch. The grounds are beautiful and the people work really hard to make your party perfect! Pony Camp is also OUTSTANDING!!!"

"My grandkids and I go to Faulkner's pumpkin patch annually. They always have fun feeding the animals, riding the ponies, playing in the inflatables, riding the zip line, going on the hayride, shooting the corn cannon, and going through the corn maze. We love watching the entertainer, Texas Terry. Everything is always clean and the employees are very friendly. What a fun time!"

"My daughter attended Pony Camp at Faulkner's Ranch this past summer and absolutely LOVED it. She has her certificate framed and hanging up on her bedroom wall. The staff was soo excellent and made her feel so safe with the ponies that she insisted on continuing to learn how to ride and how to take care of ponies/horses after the camp was over. We did some research and she has now been riding horses for 3 months. She takes lessons in Lees Summit and it is truly her calling. She has one more 4 week class to go threw and then she will begin going on trails and dreams of having her own horse someday. I'm so thrilled I got her into your pony camp program and soon she will be having her pony birthday party!!! Thanks to all staff members for making that week such a wonderful experience!!!"

"We planned my daughter's 5th birthday party at Faulkner's Ranch. Her birthday falls in February and we wanted to do something special for her without having to worry about the weather. We wanted to create a wonderful memory not only for the birthday girl but for all the kids that she invited. Faulkner's Ranch was everything that I had hoped it would be. To see her eyes light up when she saw the ponies and how happy she was that she got to ride them took my breathe away. Every child there had a twinkle in their eye and enjoyed every moment of it. The staff did an amazing job keeping the kids entertained with the cow milking and dancing Ho down. My daughter wants to have her party there every year!!"

And now, without further ado,
the winner of our random drawing for a free Pony Party is:
SARAH WALLACE ENGLAND!

Here is what Sarah had to say:
"My daughter attended Pony Camp at Faulkner's Ranch this summer and it was by far her favorite week of the year! The staff were so great with the kids and she learned so much I was really impressed. Each day she came home with new knowledge of horse care and riding. We have already signed up for Pony Camp 2 next summer! She can't wait to go again!"

The Story of YOUR Pumpkin - Contest Winner!

Last week we asked you to share the stories of YOUR pumpkins!  We got many wonderful entries and enjoyed reading all of them, but one stood out among the rest.
So now, without further ado, we would like to say a big congratulations to the winners of our contest:
George and Sandra Binger!
Their story made us smile so much and we know that it will make you smile too.
Enjoy!

The Story of OUR Pumpkin
by George and Sandra Binger

In a sea of orange, located at Faulkner's Pumpkin Farm, was a pumpkin who longed to be decorated.  He wanted to sit on a porch, to sit with other scarecrows and flowers and be admired by many.
Along came a little girl, with her mom, and took this special pumpkin into her arms.  The little girl also asked to take home two petite white pumpkins.
She already had an idea in her head, coupled with a magazine display, and promptly took her Momma to the craft store for the necessary purchases.
Carving was not the decorating this little girl had in mind.  Observing and catching butterflies is one of the numerous things she loves to do, and decided to take her love for butterflies and place them on her pumpkin.
This pumpkin was elated to be a part of the process and is very content sitting on this little girl's front porch, now complete with a cluster of glossy black butterflies "flying" around him.
What came of the little white pumpkins?
They are in "hiding", like Zorro...keeping an eye on all the porch happenings...

Isn't that story just the sweetest?
We love hearing that our pumpkins go to good homes and we love it when our guests share with us the adorable ways that they make those pumpkins their own.
So, thank you so much for sharing this delightful story, George and Sandra!
Be sure to stop on by the pumpkin farm to pick up your prize - a signed copy of George Fiorello's The Story of Pumpkin and another pumpkin for you to take home and have fun decorating!

Now it's time for you all of you to come on out to the pumpkin farm and create your own story of pumpkin!

Have a great day ya'll and we hope to see you soon!

What Is The Story of YOUR Pumpkin? Contest

Ever since our first pumpkin season, one very special book has been read literally thousands of times by our scarecrows: The Story of Pumpkin.
This delightful fall tale, written and illustrated by Frank Fiorello, holds a special place in the hearts of everyone at Faulkner’s Ranch and Pumpkin Farm.  Not only has it been the story that we share with wide-eyed children year after year, but Frank Fiorello has become a good friend of the Faulkner’s.  Each year, Frank, a fellow pumpkin farm owner, calls Christine to talk pumpkin patches and see how many books she would like to order.
We love hearing his story of pumpkin - after all these years it never gets old!

That is why we want to know...
What is the story of YOUR pumpkin?
We want to hear your favorite pumpkin memory!
What did you do with your pumpkin once you brought it home? Did you give it a name? Did you carve it? Did you use it to make a pumpkin pie? Did you bring it home alone or did you have a whole little pumpkin famliy.
And most importantly, why does that pumpkin bring about a special memory?

Submit your story via Facebook Message or e-mail it to socialmedia@faulknersranch.com.
The winning story will receive a copy of The Story of Pumpkin, as well as a free pumpkin to take home.
Contest is open to all ages.
Winner will be announced on Thursday, October 17th.

Good luck! We can’t wait to hear your stories!

PS - Stop by our Harvest Barn to get your own copy of The Story of Pumpkin to share and enjoy for only $8.95.
